My family and I are moving to Guinea, West Africa next year. I needed to learn French so I moved to Québec, Canada for about 10 months to take classes. I finished in June 08 but because of a pregnancy and all of the planning that is to take place before we move, we will not be leaving for Guinea until June '09. That is a year during which I knew I would lose the French I had learned if I didn't keep using it. I moved back to Ontario and one day on the net stumbled upon Edufire. It is now my main method of not only keeping the french that I had learned but also how I am progressing even further in my French studies. I believe that with the help of Edufire and it's teachers I will be ready for my new life and job in Guinea, West Africa.

I've been wanting to learn Japanese for a while now, and I heard about EduFire via YouTube. I signed up and decided to give it a try and attended a couple of free classes. I found the experience of learning online to be a completely different learning experience than in a classroom or in person. In my opinion, I felt a lot more comfortable and less embarrassed than I would be in real life. You can take your time to try and pronounce words out loud before you say them through the microphone and you have the privilege of being in the comfort of your own home! The site uses a very efficient acrobat program that lets you see a chat, notes and a slideshow of pictures to help you better understand what the tutor is trying to teach you - which can be edited by the tutor at the same time that you are watching it! You can also hear and see your tutor via webcam and microphone. The lessons are not only very informative, they are fun too! Also, (I found this to be a bonus) you aren't limited to people in your city who speak the language you want to learn as a second language. You can find a tutor online straight from the native country of the language you wish to learn! This way you learn a lot about that country's culture and beliefs as well as the language! From my personal experience my tutor has taught me a lot about Japanese culture as well as proper ways to speak. The whole experience is definitely something everyone should try. EduFire is a great way to learn AND have fun.

I really enjoy eduFire because not only has it opened my eyes to how fun and easy it can be to learn a language, it has also introduced me to people from around the world. The eduFire community is an amazing place to make friends from different countries and to learn practically any language you want. At first I was concerned with learning in an e-classroom but it was way easier than anticipated. The professors are kind and patient and really do work with you at your own pace. I would have to say my favorite part about the eduFire community has to be the forums, there is always interesting conversations going on with people from around the world and they are all welcoming and kind.

I heard of eduFire while searching around YouTube for different ways to learn Japanese. I went and checked out the site for a while, but I didn't join up because I had other things to attend to at that moment. When I heard about a contest to win some Japanese lessons on eduFire a month or so ago, I immediately signed up and checked the site out.
Boy, am I glad I did.
eduFire has a plethora of extremely helpful flash cards that can help you learn a language, and 100s of videos as well. They are all very informative (I felt smarter after watching one!). eduFire is also home to 100s of tutors, all ready and willing to help you out personally with the language that you want to learn! The site is stable, fast, and streamlined (and it's also very good looking!).
Every single person on the site is some kind of nice, and I haven't met a single rude person since I've been here. It's amazing a community can stay this way for such a long time since it's launch. I love it. The creators and moderators have done a great job at their... well, jobs.
Overall, eduFire has been an amazing experience, and I would recommend it to ANYONE who wants to learn a language with an actual human, and not a program!

My son and I ran across edufire by accident while looking for online flashcards to help him with his high school Spanish class. He signed up to the site and Debbie was first to greet him. He asked her a few questions and she answered them promptly. My son wanted me to sign up as well so that I could learn Italian while he learned Spanish. So I did. Debbie was the first to greet me as well. I had a plethora of questions and concerns and forwarded them all to her. She answered every single one of them and took care of anything I needed. Debbie is positively amazing. She has shown herself to be the sweetest, kindest person I have had the pleasure in getting to know. She has done so much for my family and in the short time we've known her, she's already made a difference in our lives for the better. My son is having problems in two classes in school and she's gone above and beyond to help us in locating tutors that will fit his needs. I'm definitely spreading the word about edufire. Thank you, Debbie for everything. You are such an asset!

Edufire is a very useful educational site for those interested in learning a language without taking a "formal" course. I like the one-on-one sessions better than the classroom setting (I've done both). I get more out of the tutoring sessions and I truly believe my Spanish has improved a lot.
I'm currently working on taking the DELE and I'm being tutored for it with two great tutors (Graciela and Concha). They are great and have given me confidence that I'll do fine. I'm also taking HTML session with Steve and will continue on to CSS and PHP with him as well. He's great when it comes to explaining in laymen's terms.
The edufire community is great. The people are very friendly and helpful. The community makes me feel that I will always have a home and many international friends here. That's what I love about the community...it is so diverse and I'm learning about the different cultures.
I have been with edufire for about two months. This is the only learning website that I come to every day (even though I have joined many). The people make you want to not leave the website and there is always someone here. : )
Keep up the great work, edufire.

EduFire has brought a real change in my life. After discovering it and joining out of curiosity more than anything else, I quickly became addicted to it.
As a student, it gave me great learning opportunities - including the Flash card games, language videos and, of course, one-to-many classes. Even writing in the forum almost every day is a great way to practice my English (as I'm a non-native speaker).
EduFire has also been the place where I could experience being a teacher/tutor. Since I dream of a teaching career in "real life" as well, this couldn't have been better or more useful!
Last, but not least, eduFire offered me the chance to be part of a really wonderful online community. It is one of the very, very few sites that I visit daily (more than twice a day usually) and I met many like-minded people that have become my edufriends... :)
All in all, I'm extremely glad that I came across this wonderful website! I'll keep saying it: eduFire is a great place to learn, teach and simply hang around!

I've been teaching English locally here in Los Angeles for two years. I'm new to eduFire but I'm already loving it! The community has been very welcoming. I think that what I love about eduFire the most is the fact that English learning is now more accessible to everyone in the WORLD. I'm able to offer my services cheaper because I don't have to drive and burn gas. Plus, I'm able to reach students where my car can't go! I'm set to teach my first student and she's from Russia! eduFire is genius.

It doesn't matter how long ago you joined eduFire, as you feel at home from the first very minute.
As an eduTeacher, you will find the support and means of the platform itself, and most importantly, the personal support of the eduFire members.
The World is not that wide once you meet eduFire people.
- Concha is teaching Spanish and DELE Training, from Spain
EduFire is the up-and-coming and innovative way to teach and learn online! As a teacher, I am able to get access to students all over the world. The eduFire platform allows my students to take lessons without having to live within my vicinity. My students don't ever have to worry about wasting gas to take private lessons. They can just take the lessons in the comfort of their own home. Not only is this convenient, but cost effective as well. On top of that, eduFire has a diverse and supportive community of students and teachers. Meeting people has never been so fun and easy! If I were to sum up eduFire with a couple of adjectives it would be affordable, easy, and educational. Simply put, eduFire will the future of the world!
- Ginny is teaching Japanese and Korean, from New Jersey, USA
It's very possible that I'm eduFire's oldest tutor. The reason I mention this is because it's obvious that I haven't grown up being computer literate; however, EduFire has made it incredibly simple for me to get started in my new adventure of online tutoring. Their directions are easy to understand and follow and even make it fun. I'm a new tutor--so new in fact that I haven't as yet had a student. But I feel completely comfortable jumping in and doing my thing when somebody presents himself.
Aside from eduFire's website being easy and fun to live with, Marco C has been an invaluable asset to me. He has the patience of a saint, is very clear in his directions, and is complimentary for even the smallest correct thing that I do. And he's completely accessable. I feel so fortunate to have him to lean on.
- Judy is teaching English, from Michigan, USA
EduFire has allowed me to travel all over the world without having to leave my house. I have met some amazing people and am so fortunate to be part of the EduFire team. Everyone in this community is very friendly and extremely helpful. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that an Online community be so tightly knit. I have only been teaching on EduFire for a little over a month, but I feel right at home! The teaching platform is excellent and I do not feel any different teaching online than teaching face to face! EduFire has really used technology for the best!

I have been teaching Arabic to 3 brothers, 2 of them are twins, and a younger brother, they are very smart and learning very fast, the youngest one is 10 years old and he wants to be an astronaut. Our learning experience is very smooth and easy, they never gave me hard time, very respectable, and worth being with, thanks edufire for giving us this opportunity.

eduFire is an amazing platform capable of connecting teachers and students from around the world. With eduFireÕs SuperPass everything is possible. IÕve found that my ability to read, write, speak, and listen to Japanese has increased substantially since giving it a try. Classes are available whenever you are from teachers around the world. The ability to join a class at almost any time gives eduFire a unique edge. The classes are live and the students get as much attention as they want; hang out in the background or join in on the webcam! Not only can you increase your language capabilities, you can learn cooking (recipes from around the world!), psychology, philosophy, history, marketing, and anything else imaginable.
The most amazing thing about eduFire is the ability teachers have to spontaneously create classes about current events. Learn more about the Swine Flu, the Iran election, the economic crisis, and more as they happen! IÕve cut hours and hours of research on these topics by simply taking a class from an expert on the subject (plus, youÕll probably be given loads of websites, books, and anything else that can assist you if you do want to do additional research).
One of the most important things at eduFire is the sense of community among teachers and students. Ask for a class on the forums, encourage change through the idea board, learn about other cultures, get advice from fellow students and teachers, and meet friends from around the world.
DonÕt miss your opportunity to partake in the education revolution! Join eduFire today (you definitely wonÕt regret it).
