Hi Kamal, I have been experimenting with superscript notation in flashcards using html tags: Differentiating Algebraic Functions The tag expression I used for superscript 3 was <’sub’>3</’sub’> but without quotes round sub. I had to put them in here to stop this just appearing as a superscript 3 :-) You should be able to use this method for your squares flashcards too. Hope it works for you :-) Message me if I haven’t explained it very well ;-)

Can you Square 31..mentally?

Do you think you can answer the question without using pen and paper …. or the calculator?

Soon you will :)

Be the next math whiz!!!

Lets discuss some easy steps to calculate the squares of numbers 1-100 mentally!
Recommended for all test prep students who are giving a test which doesn’t allow the use of calculators.

Or if you just love math :)

Hi Maria,
You can’t create a lesson to take place on the same day as you create it – it has to be the next day. I think you might be able to create one just before midnight for just after midnight but I am not sure if it actually has to be 24 hours.
Individual sessions always have to be requested by the student and they have to keep requesting them one at a time as they want them. I don’t think you are supposed to set 1 student maximums for classes – they are meant to be open to anyone and I think 10 is the minimum number that eduFire recommends.
I am sure Marco will be along in a minute to confirm or correct all this.
All the best :-)

Just bumping this up as a reminder – don’t miss this chance to have a peep at the Ancient Greek alphabet, one of the oldest alphabets in the world. It is useful in Maths and Science as well as underlying the Roman Alphabet used to write so many lanugages today.
If you are interested in learning more of the language itself, I could take you on to the National Greek Exam – USA or GCSE level (UK). No previous knowledge is required.

Register here.
You will be very welcome :-)

We need a ‘see more’ button for Exam Prep too ….. pretty, pretty please :)

Hi Terry, Start when you like! Do attend a free tutor orientation session first though. All the best, Mair

@Karen – did the writing piece make it to About.com? I really enjoyed it :-)

Joe, I am no expert on this either, but I think Superpass is worth enabling for the type of class where you can cope with a large number of attendees. Your class is then effectively ‘free’ to Superpass holders so, as long as your topic has mass appeal, you should be able to bring in enough students to generate a reasonable income for your time. Minority subjects, or subjects with a low restriction on class size, are not going to work so well. However, having said that, it is really quite difficult to find any volume of students willing to pay for classes at all. It is a long and patient job to build up a number of students who know the value of your teaching and who will attend your classes regularly. The problem was worse before we had Superpass – then students mostly attended and wanted free classes, so I think that Superpass has definitely been a step in the right direction. Best of luck with it all.

@Ron – a quick google of ‘video stops streaming’ throws up a lot of people with the same problem. There doesn’t seem to be a straightforward solution though installing the latest version of Flash and making more room on the hard drive seem to have worked for some. Someone also suggested downloading the video and playing it locally. Best of luck :-)

@Ron Both videos play fine for me all the way through. Hope you find a fix for Amar as they are well worth watching.

@Karen and @Agnes ~ Having read your posts about OO, I downloaded it about an hour ago and have been preparing a presentation using OO ‘Impress’. I love it. I think it is more straightforward then Powerpoint and I have been using that for years! Thanks for the tip.

@Ron that is really wonderful! Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge here. I will certainly be taking your advice :-)
