Wow – this looks like a great site. I’ve perused quite a few language learning portals and this model looks like it has what it takes to provide easily-vetted, quality instruction in flexible environment.

I’ve studied about 25 languages, grew up in a multilingual family and have degrees in linguistics and Russian. I worked as a translator for a few years but then got married, had kids, and got into the computer and webdev world. Most of my languages are woefully out of practice and I would love to get back into them. This looks like a great opportunity.

The languages I need to work on intensively in the short term to help my husband with work are conversational Spanish and German. I would love to work on my Russian, French and Italian at some point and learn more Hindi so that I can understand the Bollywood movies!

Looking forward,

Alfia

Hey, I’m a mature lady – I’ve had time to accumulate them! Not claiming fluency here, but I have spent at least 6 months on each and can survive if you dropped me from a plane (with a parachute, please) in six or seven of them. Many I only have reading or parsing ability. I really want to boost my conversational and reading facility in a few of these. Here’s my chance! À bonne chance!

1. English
2. Russian
3. Italian
4. French
5. Spanish
6. German
7. Serbo-Croatian
8. Polish
9. Old Church Slavonic!!!
10. Latin
11. Classical Greek
12. Portuguese
13. Romanian
14. Mandarin Chinese
15. Arabic (MSA)
16. Hindi
17. Japanese
18. Korean
19. Kurundi (spoken in Burundi)
20. Hebrew
21. Farsi
22. Bulgarian
23. Egyptian Arabic
24. Icelandic
25. Slovenian

I am afraid at some point any more information going in, pushes out the previously acquired info, lol. Or was it just having kids that expelled the info I had stored up there, lol.
