Subscriptions?

Hi there,
New user here. I’m looking at my profile settings and i don’t know what all the subscriptions mean. Can I find an explanation some place?

Hi Cooper! Welcome to eduFire. :)

Which paticular subscriptions are you referring to? There are no subscriptions to pay. eduFire is free to join, play the flashcards etc. The only thing to pay is if you request to have a session with a tutor . For that you get personal one-to-one tuition with a tutor of your choice.

If you wish, if a particular tutor is listed as online and “I’m Available”, you can have a FREE 10 minute session with them. The learning section of the FAQs here may help too.

Hey Cooper. I agree these are confusing and we’re definitely planning to revise in the future. Here’s what they mean (best I understand it, I could be slightly off):

Mass Emails – Roughly once a month we send out a newsletter type email to students and tutors.
Session Request Messages – These are messages that someone is requesting to have a session with you.
Closed Session Request Messages – These are messages you have responded to related to session requests.
Friendship Request Messages – Someone on eduFire wants to be your friend.
Messages – Unchecking this box will turn off all messages from being sent to you.
Challenge Messages – Our Flashcards section has a feature where you can challenge other people to do the same flashcard sets you have done. Unchecking this box means you won’t get any more flashcard messages.
