Badges are here!

A number of you requested badges to use on your blog, social networking pages, websites, etc. I’m proud to announce that, thanks in large part to Marco and Susan we now have a whole slew of batches for you to use to promote the fact that you teach on eduFire. For now we’ve put them up on Photobucket and we’ll have a page for them here on eduFire soon. Here’s the link:

We’d recommend that you link them directly to your profile page so prospective students can easily find you. The syntax is as follows:

The first page has language badges for our most popular languages and the second page has more generic badges.

If you’d like your language added as a badge and it’s been missed, just let us know. :)

Wow…they all look great…but I just had an idea…how about we make a few for each lof the popular languages, written in that language…like the one in spanish…I guess that would be cool for people who are native and have a blog in their native language…right?
Just a thought…

Can anyone please tell me HOW to add a badge to MySpace and Facebook?. I followed the directions Jon gave in his post, but it did not work. I like this badges and I want to have one on my profile page too.

Hey Claudia. I spent some time tonight poking around to try to answer your question but couldn’t figure it out. I know how to post these to a regular HTML page but not sure how you’d integrate with Facebook. Can anyone else help out here?

Thanks, Jon. So, maybe Tracy Perry can share her experience with MySpace, which seems to be quite similar to Facebook. She said some days ago that she had added a badge to her MySpace page…

Unfortunately Facebook doesn’t allow html customization on profiles. You could, however, share the photo on Facebook by “posting” it… but it wouldn’t be permanent to your profile :-(

I had to revive this topic because… I want to ask for a badge… ( ( ( batting eyelashes ) ) )

So could someone please, please, pretty please create a badge for me? I want to show it instead of my avatar in Yahoo! Answers… I used to answer a lot of Latin-related questions in their ‘Homework Help’ section, and I think that among these students who take Latin and need help there may be one who would request tutoring… :D

So, my dream badge: “I teach Latin on eduFire”, preferably square and with a black background… :)

Yes, exactly Debbie. A few days ago, I was speaking to Marco C, as I asked him what are they, and he said me they reveal a certain importance, for indicating your specialities.

Oh yes! I see :) The badges are neat! The more you do on here, the more badges you will get :)
