Hi there, My name is Flash Cards and I’m the new language learning application from Edufire. Why don’t you take a look at: http://edufire.com/games/flashcards and give me a try. We’ve got flash card sets for Spanish, French, Russian and other languages organized categorically. And if you’re a teacher you can even create custom sets for how you like to teach your students. Scott (my name really isn’t Flash Cards; I’m just one of the engineers here who helped create it) |

Just went through half of Hotel California in the Spanish section. I abandoned early cause I have a meeting but ABSOLUTELY LOVE the flash cards!!! I’ll be using these when I have 5 minute breaks here and there. SO COOL! Way to go guys. One note..the question text was a little cut off on the bottom. Very cool though. :) |

Hey Carrie, Thanks for the kudos. Greatly appreciated. One question tho — I didn’t see the question text being cut off when I run through it. Any chance you could send a screenshot of this to scott [at] edurev.com ? Thanks! |

Very cool. I just went through the politics flash cards. I’ll definitely be using this feature regularly. Thanks for putting it together. |

Hey Carrie, Eagle Eye’d Jared (another one of the engineers here) found what I think is your problem and fixed it. Please let me know if flash cards now look better to you. Thanks |

Dear Mr. Flash Cards, You are cool. Thanks for showing up here on eduFire! I will be visiting you often. :) Sincerely, Jon :) ****** Glad you guys like them so far. This part of our site is about 2% of what it’ll ultimately be. You’ll definitely love the things we’ll be adding in the future! :) |

Hey, Scott, I appreciate all of your hard work on the flashcards. Between those, great tutors, and the videos, it looks like this site is becoming unbeatable! |
These are too fun – Great idea! |
It’s been really helpful. I love the flashcards. |
These flash cards are ingenious I tell you…they are great! I will definitely get alot of use out of these. Great idea!! |

The new challenge feature with the flashcards rocks. Jon, I shall get my revenge in another language perhaps. |
Wow! When was that added – way cool! Jon, I’m gaining fast! |
Russian flashcards? I didn’t see that as an option to tell you the truth. I did German just to check it out and failed miserably at -810 points…OOPS! |
Eat my dust Ryan and Jon – sorry, I don’t know what’s come over me! :-) |

These things are awesome and addictive…I’m kicking but on the Italian section… I will continue my domination as soon as I finish this post. If this is only “2%” I’m excited to see what the rest will bring. |
I AM TOTALLY ADDICTED!!!!!!!!!! |

lol I agree with you Laura! I feel like such a dork addicted to the site!!! the flashcards are insane! the crazy thing is I’m actually learning! Thanks for the geniuses that created such a masterpiece. 8) |

Laura, it’s a healthy addiction. I say so, and remember I’m the Master of the Spanish Universe – if I say it’s ok, it just is. You may continue to play the flashcards to your hearts content. As for you Alejandra well I would have pursued the title of “Master of the Italian Universe” but I was tired and wanted to go to sleep. Just remember… Non ho paura di te. |
Antonio, um, do I hear excuses? Tired? A true Master of the Universe wouldn’t let exhaustion get in his way! (Antonio, I love your sense of humor! :) ) |

I was trying out the flashcards yesterday and they are really cool. I know I will be totally addicted. The one thing I wished was that there were different levels of difficulty. (Correct me if I missed that somewhere.) This website is kind of neat the way they change the level of difficulty http://www.freerice.com/index.php |

The flash cards are pretty interesting but are more or less like a game. It would be better to use it like homework but i think is necessary to study grammar to speak a language! |
Are tutors allowed to create flashcard sets? That would be fun. |

I tried the flashcards and loved them, except that after I had completed several level I could not get the program to move on to the next level. It just froze at the last word. I assume it’s a bug that will be fixed and in the meanwhile I’ll try it again. My other comment was that I was a bit annoyed that I could almost never earn the highest number of points because I could not read all the choices before the number of points was reduced. How about giving us a few more seconds to read the choices? P.S. I am thrilled to find a flashcard game that includes short idioms not just individual words. Oh, one more thing. As you are playing the game you want to answer quickly to earn more points but then after you answer, you have to slow down to read the clever but rather long sentence telling you if you were correct or not. I like the cute responses but couldn’t you start them with a very consistent “Right!…..” or “Wrong!….” (or similar) so those of us who are going for speed can just glance at the beginning of the response and quickly move on, thus keeping our tempo up? |

@Liz: Tutors are allowed to create flashcard sets! Here’s the link: http://edufire.com/flashcard_sets (This is also on your tutor homepage but we should probably make it a little more prominent on the site!) @Lynne: Sorry to hear about some of the problems you were having. We’ve ironed out most of the bugs but occasionally we still bump into some, especially on older browsers. As for the # of points being reduced, I guess that’s part of the challenge in that it forces you to move quickly to get a high score. @Stephanie: Soon! :) |

I find that they are a great way to encourage friends to the site with a fun flashcard challenge. It really makes the site more interactive, and fun! Tina |
