Hon, I’m gonna say something…America is the entire continent, from north to south, so I’m in America too and actually, our independence day is on the 9th…so I’ll say…TO THOSE OF YOU IN THE UNITED STATES….HAPPY 4TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I’m not meaning to be mean or anything, just expressing a thought) |

Over here in France, the big holiday this month is July 14, Bastille Day. It’s an independence day of sorts, since it marks the fall of the monarchy and the establishment of a republican form of government. We will have fireworks and concerts, similar to what you see on July 4 in the US. No baseball games and hot dogs, though…. |

Patrick…oh my, now I have to learn France’s NAtional Anthem and sing it for you (and everyone else here on Edufire) on Bastille Day! That was WONDERFUL! Thank you:) |

Hmmm…France’s national Anthem starts with something like: A les enfants de la patrie…le jour de gloire et arrivĂ©e But that’s all I remember, my grandma taught it to me when I was a child, but I’ve never sang it since then. Our anthem is more about history…how the country was founded and the battles faught to make it better, but we’ve never had a good president that lasted long enough to make the best out of it. Hugs, Sue |

Since we’re talking about anthems, I found this web where most country’s anthems in MP3 and their lyrics are there in quite good quality and very well organised to be found easily. http://www.national-anthems.net/ Sue |
